Nago café is an excellent restaurant in Tokyo serving delicious Japanese food. In Japanese, Nago café is written in hiragana as なごかふぇ. Since October 2014, Nago café proposes food from Italy in addition to Okinawa (try the savoury “black cabbage and pork stew” for lunch). Sébastien Duval will update the English menu then give a copy to the nearby hotels, starting with Hotel Niwa Tokyo.
Nago café’s cook, NASHIRO Tsugumi, can cook a delicious omelette containing goya (from Okinawa) and cheese, topped with a spicy tomato sauce. A set can also include a soup with sesame oil, seaweeds, white rice, hot coffee, and a tiny slice of tankan (orange) pound cake.
You can also get a soft potato potage topped with banno-negi (onion) and surprising pork rolls containing bell pepper, green beans or okra:
I learn new things about Japanese food and/or international cooking every time I go to this restaurant; these dishes are perfect examples!
Nago café was advertised on the Yes in Japan map of summer 2014.
- Tokyo = 東京, Okinawa archipelago = 沖縄諸島 (Okinawa-shoto).
- Banno-negi = 万能ネギ, Goya = ゴーヤー, Tankan = タンカン.
